About the Framework

The CBC replaces the old 8-4-4 system and is structured across six key areas: Language & Communication, Mathematical Activities, Scientific & Technological Activities, Environmental & Health Activities, Physical & Health Education, and Creative Arts & Culture. It spans Pre-Primary (PP1–PP2), Primary (Grades 1–6), and Junior Secondary (Grades 7–9), with Senior School options at Grades 10–12.

Oakbright Homeschooling conducts CBC national assessments through our partnership with accredited examination centres. Our students have demonstrated remarkable growth, with consistent improvement in practical assessments and project-based evaluations. Many have been commended for excellence in science fairs and creative arts competitions.

About the Framework

Developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, this method uses specially designed materials and a prepared environment to guide children through self-directed learning. The programme covers the absorbent mind stages — from Infants & Toddlers (0–3) through Early Childhood (3–6) and Elementary (6–12). Each child progresses at their own pace with trained guides facilitating discovery.

Our Montessori programme incorporates authentic materials sourced internationally and follows theAMI (American Montessori Society) guidelines. Children develop strong foundations in practical life skills, sensorial exploration, language, mathematics, cultural studies, and scientific inquiry.

About the Framework

The 8-4-4 system remains relevant for many Kenyan families transitioning or maintaining ties to the legacy structure. Our home-based programme covers Primary (Class 1–8) and Secondary (Form 1–4) with experienced tutors deeply familiar with the KCPE and KCSE syllabi, past papers, and examination techniques.

Tuition is delivered on an hourly basis, allowing families flexibility in scheduling. Tutors focus on weak areas, exam preparation, and foundational mastery. Our students have consistently improved theirKCPE and KCSE scores, with several achieving division one and straight A grades.

Flexible Payment Plans

• First Month of EnrollmentParents can pay 70% at the start of the month, and the remaining 30% at the end of the same month as agreed.
• Subsequent MonthsThe payment structure changes to 80% at the start of the month and 20% at the end of the month.

• Document IssuanceAn official Invoice will be issued to parents who have paid at least half (50%) of the tuition fees. A formal Receipt will only be issued to parents who have completed 100% of the fees.

Teachers Recruitment Requirements

Minimum requirements to be considered for 8-4-4 / CBC / IGCSE from Kindergarten to Advanced levels teaching opportunities:

• Degree or diploma qualification
• Experience: 2 years minimum
• Registration with TSC/International bodies

Steps Towards Recruitment

1. Fill in the teachers' recruitment form: Click on the Apply Now button to submit your details. Fill out some basic info about yourself, including education and work experiences, skills, and your passion for tutoring. As parents and students will be interested in you as well, your profile will carry your reputation and connect you to our world. You’ll see tips and examples at each step of the registration process to help you fill in the information. When you complete registration, once a vacancy arises, our teacher recruitment team will review your profile and once your profile is approved, you will be invited for an interview.
2. Get Interviewed: We are looking for passionate, driven, knowledgeable people to partner with us and put our students on the road to success. During the interviews, we want to confirm everything you have indicated on your profile. Our interviewers are friendly experienced tutors, who will also discuss possible areas of improvement. Here is what our interviewers are looking for: knowledge of content in the given curriculum, teaching level, and subject content; outstanding communication skills, candidate attributes, and other characteristics; work ethics, motivation & enthusiasm.
3. Get Trained: We provide free training webinars that guide you throughout your tutoring journey. Join a community of expert tutors who are always there for you. We will train you to manage your classes and lesson plans, conduct virtual classes and use our online tools for assignment and report cards, among others.
4. Start Tutoring: Once approved, we'll start sending students your way. For online classes, you will need a laptop or a desktop computer, a stable internet connection, a webcam, and a microphone for conducting the lessons. For physical classes, we will allocate you with students who live around where you stay. In addition to tutoring, you will be required to engage with your students and their parents, help your students to realize their potential and dive into their abilities, and create content (notes and revision questions) that can earn you money online.
5. Get Paid: You focus on being a great tutor and let us handle students' payments and billing. Your earnings depend on the amount students pay, the number of lessons you teach, and how many students continue learning with you. We only charge a commission for the lessons that you have taught. The commission ranges from 30% to 50% to cover bringing in more students from around the globe, developing an easy-to-use video tool, learning materials, office expenses, management working staff, and online expenses like zoom & website payment, etc.
